FIRST BRANCH AMBULANCE VOLUNTEERS
First Branch Ambulance Volunteers are the backbone of our ambulance service. They are also the reason FBA has been able to keep per-captia rates far lower than any other service in the area. All FBA volunteers go through the same rigorous certification & licensure process as every other EMS provider in the State of Vermont, this is on top of attending 2 in-service trainings every month! Many FBA volunteers work Full-Time in EMS elsewhere as their career then choose to donate their time and skills to the fortunate residents of Chelsea & Tunbridge. According to a newsletter published by the Vermont Department of Health in 2014, over 80% of all VT EMS agencies rely on volunteers in some way or another. First Branch Ambulance continues to add to our roster of Volunteer EMT's with the addition of 5 new members in 2014 alone. FBA's great success in Volunteer recruitment and retention is partly thanks to FBA's dedication to showing them appreciation. All volunteers are compensated for their time "on call", as well as paid a generous hourly rate for the time they're on 911 calls. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to be a FBA volunteer, but if you think you have what it takes, click here to fill out our application!
